Here's Your First Look at Universal Epic Universe's Celestial Park, Opening in 2025

Announced in 2019, Universal Epic Universe is set to be a groundbreaking addition to the expansive Universal Orlando Resort in Florida. Slated to open in 2025, this new theme park will host five intricately designed lands filled with a universe of thrilling rides, unique shops, and diverse eateries. The latest concept art offers a tantalizing glimpse of what's to come.

The park will feature distinct realms including The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Ministry of Magic; Super Nintendo World; How to Train Your Dragon — Isle of Berk; Dark Universe; and the interstellar-themed Celestial Park. Spanning 750 acres near the Orange County Convention Center, Epic Universe is just a 12-minute drive from the main Universal Orlando Resort area.

As visitors enter Epic Universe through the Emerald Gate, passing the Chronos device — a colossal machine depicted as harnessing the universe's energy to power the park — they will first set foot in Celestial Park. This introductory area of the park dazzles with several celestial-themed attractions, including the Starfall Racers roller coaster, the Constellation Carousel, and the whimsical Moonship Chocolates & Celestial Sweets. This confectionery, reminiscent of a scene straight out of a Wonka creation, offers guests an assortment of unique, heavenly-themed sugary delights.

Adam Rivest, the executive producer for Celestial Park, explained the significance of the Chronos device in a press statement: "In our story, Chronos is this giant machine used to harness the energy of the universe. It powers all of Celestial Park, allowing us to open portals to other worlds."

Below are the official descriptions of Celestial Park's two main attractions:

Ride a shooting star across the cosmos with Starfall Racers

Experience the thrill of rocketing through the cosmos on Starfall Racers, a dual-launch roller coaster that simulates the exhilaration of riding a shooting star. This high-speed adventure reaches velocities of up to 62 mph (100 kph) and ascends to heights of 133 feet (41 meters) along a sprawling 5,000 feet (1,524 meters) of track. Participants will engage in a side-by-side race, weaving through an inverted crisscross called the "Celestial Spin," surrounded by a dazzling display of vibrant colors and celestial-themed music.

"In our story, Chronos is this giant machine used to harness the energy of the universe that powers all of Celestial Park, allowing us to open the portals to other worlds," Adam Rivest, executive producer for Celestial Park, said in a press statement.

Step onto the Constellation Carousel and embark on a celestial journey like no other.

This unique carousel harnesses the cosmic energy of the universe, allowing guests to ride atop constellations themselves. From celestial lions to dragons and peacocks, each fantastical carriage rotates 360 degrees and elevates riders up to 6 feet (1.8 m) above the ground. As you spin across the simulated Milky Way, the carousel’s celestial music and vibrant colors create a mesmerizing sensory experience.

"Constellation Carousel is the most enchanting carousel ever made," said Gabriela Lander, director of facility design for Universal Creative. "The design, the colors and tones, the dome that will cover it… well, all the elements used in this experience are the perfect combination to create a unique moment while enjoying Epic. The traditional carousel of our childhood is being redefined by the stars!"

This full-service hotel promises an enchanting stay where "the heavens and Earth unite," offering a seamless blend of celestial charm and earthly comfort. It stands alongside its sister properties—the deluxe Universal Stella Nova Resort and Universal Terra Luna Resort—each themed around stars, galaxies, and planets, enhancing your cosmic journey.

"Epic is not just an idea; it is a living, breathing entity that we are creating here in Orlando, and so many people have been nurturing it along the way," Rivest notes. "So it's just really exciting that we’re about to share this park with the world."
